I have been inspired by the work of Valeria Nascimento, an artist who works with porcelain, creating the most fascinating, delicate and beautiful wall installations. I saw her work at the Woolff Gallery in London and was taken aback by how delicate it was and by its beauty. Valeria was born in Brazil and worked as an architect. She was introduced to porcelain and now works solely with it. "My inspiration is drawn mostly form the natural world and porcelain has the smoothness and malleability that I need to create new shapes, manipulating it to appear in some cases defiantly weightless. My work is about repetitive sequencing with separate elements to form a cohesive sculptural group."

1960's Sweet Bowl

Another great gift from my mother in law! A gorgeous sweet bowl she bought in the 1960's!

I have a mission this week! I am looking everywhere at home for all my vintage inheritance! I have sweet bowls, vases, clocks, decanters... and my mission is to photograph those and share them with you! I have been visiting charity shops too but so far I haven't been very lucky, but one shall persevere with new hobby! Well... not quite a hobby I believe... more like a hunt? Well, anyhow, I will continue as I am sure that the most beautiful vase is out there waiting for me!

This is going to be my first attempt at blogging! So much to share that I don't even know where to start! Maybe I should take inspiration from the fact that today my husband and I have been married for 15 years! Well... maybe it shouldn't matter so much as we have actually been together for 19! After two kids and two cats, an old house which demands a lot of TLC... we are together enjoying it all! Anyway... not after counselling here! So I will just share with you some of my latest design work and photography! Hope you enjoy it!
